We take our commitment to the environment seriously, both in our products and our packaging. To that end, we recently introduced OxO biodegradable packaging. It’s the same great product, with less waste.
Oxo-biodegradable plastic is made with a blend of pro-degradent additive, which we add to the plastic during the extrusion process. This additive causes the molecular structure of plastic to break down when exposed to heat or sunlight. Eventually, the plastic breaks down to the point where it can be digested by microorganisms. This allows the plastic to degrade at a faster and faster rate – until it is fully degraded into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass.
